Subject: Recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis
Hi. I have recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my hands and feet, possibly in my neck as I have disc prolapses from C5 to C7 and a trapped brachial nerve. I have been told to take Glucosamine tablets by the consultant. Haven't noticed any improvement yet. I also take: Gabapentin for nerve pain (have also got trimengal neuralgia, take amyptiptolene at night to relax the nerves in my neck so that I can sleep and codeine when the pain is really bad plus naproxen. I have a tens machine which helps - can anyone recommend anything that will help other than taking pain meds when it is really bad?

For me, Jacqui trigeminal nueralgia meant months on diazapan and tramadol plus some really helpful osteopathy upper thoracic to relieve pressure there, similarly massage of neck muscles with dog oil certainly help soften the tension up. Postures really important and I employ gentle neck e exercises to keep things moving smoothly, but. Tn truly is a nightmare, I still have flashes of it. Have never rated glucosamine tablet form, better by liquid, with chondoitrin, still never really helped, voltarol helps, maybe with feet orthotics may help, with wrists restshelp, keep them warm, use use grips to strengthen the area, just holding them tight, not repeatedly flexing, just keeping the grip, that nueralgia is a terrible thing, barry
