Subject: Buttock pain when driving

I have psoriatic arthritis. It's being managed through medication but recently I've started to experience pain in my "buttock bones" after driving for about 40 minutes. This gets worse and I get pains down my legs to my feet. The drugs don't stop it. Dies anyone have any tips to help me manage it better.

Hi Geraint, I remember getting terrible pain in my coccyx and it was so sore but that was more at the bottom of my spine so not too sure about the buttock bones. I think you should speak to your rheumatology people, do you have a nurse that you could call and ask for advice? It might help to use a cushion when driving and try to have a break after about 20 mins or so to see if that helps any. Sometimes we have to have something else added to what we already take when things get worse but I think you need to speak to someone about this. Hope it eases off soon.

Hi, sounds like sciatica, when I get that I use a particular osteopath to help stretch the joint, free off the nerve, however, any arthritis in the area does complicate things.
