Subject: osteoarthritis and gout

Can I claim any sort of benefit for osteoarthritis and gout I take medication for both had steroid injection in my knee and still can't walk far any advice would help

I think it is getting much harder to get onto DLA now, Joan, and it is changing to PIP (personal independent payment) If you can't walk very far then you should apply for it, just phone and ask for a form, it won't do any harm.

I cannot walk more than 50 yards without being in severe pain I have osteoarthritis in both hips I applied for a PIP and was successful Good luck

I have just informed my employer that I have to use a walking stick I'm a bus driver when I'm sitting I'm ok when I walk in pain straight away now worried he will dismiss me image thing he don't want people to see his drivers use a stick
