Subject: An existential rant - and Enbrel
Dear all, Is anyone else on Enbrel for R.A? I didn't do too well on Sulfasalazine, and I can't take Methotrexate, and then after a good start with Humira, I started getting flares again... so this is my first week on Enbrel... It has helped, after a horrendous few weeks in which I began to feel about 250 years old (I am in my mid-30s). I just wondered if anyone else was youngish, or injecting Enbrel, or even just wondering where the hell all this R.A. nonsense has come from... Of course it could be a lot worse, but for someone who is very active and healthy I feel kind of confused and annoyed... Rant over (And breathe!) Thank you :-) Emily

Hi Emily I was 22 when I was diagnosed with arthritis. I'm the grand old age of 33 now but feel about 90 :-(. I was injecting with enbrel & found it great. I am taking a break from it as I'm hoping to start a family. I get very frustrated too as I used to love going walking & getting dressed up in high heels but unfortunately it's mostly flats now. It's really easy to give up & get depressed but you''re better to keep positive. Hope you feel better soon. Chaz x
