Subject: Yttrium injection
Hi all I'm 31 years old and I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis when I was 23. Since then I've been taking several meds and my knees are more or less ok. My doc offered me this treatment and I agreed because I'm sick of having my knee so swollen when the date for me to have the injection (once a month) is close. I'm supposed to have it in two weeks, but I am a little scared as I couldn't find much info about this and the one I found was not very positive... any update? Anyone used it recently and worked fine? I appreciate your comments, sorry for my English and greetings from Spain!

Hi Patricia, I had never heard of Yttrium injections so I had a look online but still not too clear about it. I have had many steroid injections in my knee but never yttrium. I hope someone can come on and offer you some advice. All I can suggest is calling the arthritis helpline and see if they know anything about it and how effective it is and if there are many side effects. By the way - your English is perfect. xx

Hi guys again Just to let you know, I had this treatment last 31 July. I had to stay home for 5 days, couldn't move my leg for that time for security reasons and couldn't be with children or pregnant women. After those 5 days resting.... my knee is a new one!! I keep having my meds, the same treatment as before the ytrium, but I noticed a big change ÁÁnow I even feel the bone under the skin!! So, if anybody has the oportunity of havig this injection, give it a try. Mine is working by now, and it has been almost 2 months, so I am quite happy!! All the best!

That is good news, Patricia. I hope the benefit continues. My daughter lives in Spain and I must say I have been most impressed with the hospital treatment that she gets there. Take care x
