Subject: PIP re-assessed
Hi Everyone, long time since I last posted. But I thought you might like to know there is good news out there regarding PIP payments. I had a letter back in January saying they needed to re-assess my claim,as you can imagine I was devastated,I had to jump through hoops to get it in the first place and although it was only the basic mobility it is a great help to me getting to hospitals etc. I filled in the forms honestly and very carefully I was only given a week. My condition has got worse and my left hip has now given up but i still thought I would be refused as I can with difficulty walk 50 yards, and I know the criteria is now very strict. BUT NO I not only got it, it was increased, I feel like I have won the lottery as it has been awarded till 2018 so the stress has been lifted. Had my blood pressure checked today and it's right down wonder why?? anyway just to say be honest and careful when filling in the forms it does work.

Well done Margaret. Nice to hear someone has been given what they rightly deserve. Although I was sorry to read your condition has got worse. Blood pressure coming down is good. It isn't surprising when it goes up under pressure that we could do without. Once again well done and take care xx

That's good news, Margaret. You are only getting what you are entitled to.

Thanks Lois and Lucy, went to see consultant today told that I now need left hip replacement but because the arthritis in my back is quite bad, and affecting my mobility, it may not be a huge success. I have decided to leave it for a bit. Sometimes you just need time to be you, not another statistic or target, bit sick of constant visits to different specialist to be pushed and prodded only to be given the same diagnosis. Rant over thanks again for all your support looks like you've got me for a while yet. If I can help anyone else who is struggling with claim forms don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Margaret, you rant away sometimes that's all we need to do to feel a little better. I know exactly what you mean about all the hospital visits and endless poking and prodding to be told the same thing you have heard many times before. This forum is a great place to come for support and a little chat. Take care and have a lovely Easter

Hi everyone, been a bit laid up lately back hip ankle you name it. Still going strong though, I read your messages most weeks and thank everyone for there support. Still deciding about op keeping my head down for now. Wee bit peed off cause I didn't get full mobility which was all I was on when it was DLA. I need a higher car getting in and out of mine is becoming quite difficult.I don't want to rock the boat cause I did get and increase. Problem is like many people I can walk 20 meters I could probably manage a 100 but it's the walking back that's the problem and the pain. I'm on my feet at work but I don't move far and when I get home the pain is unbelievable. Still at least unlike some I can still work and that is a huge blessing. And I do have my Blue Badge so parking is fine. We must be grateful for what we do have and not yearn for what we can't have my mum used to say. Glad to see your having such wonderful weather down south.
