Hi Claire, in my experience, physio is very good. You could talk to the them about mattresses and stuff like that. They may be able to recommend other sleeping aids too.

Hi Claire, it might help when you lay on your side to place a pillow between your legs at calf. This will take strain off of the hips.
Pyhsio can be very good if it doesn't work for you ask if you can go to the hydro pool.
You don't say if you have any pain meds. These are particularly helpful at night.
I would ask your GP to send you to Consultant if you haven't seen one. Scans MRI and CT are much better than an ordinary x-ray. They show up so much more.
Hope this helps. Take care

Thankyou for your advice. Only on co-codomel at mo but its not even touching the pain. Hopefully physio will help. Will try a pillow tonight if i get any sleep. Will ask doctor about having a scan as only had hip x-ray so far. Thanks again. Its nice to talk to people who understand.

Hi Clair, ask your GP about Tramadol/Tramacet these are a much stronger painkiller for the really bad days. There is no reason you should be in pain every day.
Sometimes you will have to be quiet pushy with your GP sorry to say. If you get to see a consultant they will talk with your gp as to what is best for you.
It is easy for Gp to say OA and leave you but it is not the right thing to do by you.
Take care and keep your chin up X

Hi Lois lane, thanks for that i will try and see doc this week if i can get an appointment. Must say my gp was good when i first went and with being newly diagnosed its all going to be trial and error at first but with having a job where im on my feet and walking for 8 hours a day up to 10 miles a day i really need to find something that will help me pretty quick. x

Hi Claire, Do you drink sodas, sport drinks, beer at a lot of coffee? They are all highly acidic. I went to an alkaline water that I make at home and that really helped.
All about it on my blog, https://alkalinewaterkansas.wordpress.com/

Hi Clair glad it helped you. I hope you can keep your job it is so important for us to be normal (if there is such a thing) lol. I retired 3yrs ago and sometimes I do miss my job and workmates and the change of scenery. I am retirement age and felt it was time to slow done. I have filled my days now.
