Subject: MTX and going up in dose
Hi I have recently been put up by 2.5mg of MTX, I'm now on 17.5mg. I had very sore throbbing feet all the time. I have been on the higher dose 6 weeks now and not much difference. How long does it take to kick in. I'm also on Placquenil. Thanks

Hi Rachel, I'm sorry to hear that mtx isn't helping you yet. I think it can take a wee while to take affect and everyone is different. I'm not sure what the average time is. Have they not offered you a steroid injection until it kicks in? I hope you get some relief soon. If you still feel it isn't working soon then I would get back onto the hospital as they may need to give you something else. Take care x
