Subject: Work and RA

Hi, I've been having a few problems with my work, I've been recently diagnosed and I was off for a very long time with a swollen knee which was inbareably painful! I still get pain but the swelling isn't there thankfully! I have reduced hours at work but they keep moaning at me to work more hours, everytime I'm in there they say something! The hospital are meant to be sending me a letter out to tell them I can't but i still haven't received it. It's really getting me down, unfortunately its something I can't help. I can't take ibruprofen because it makes me very sick and pain killers just don't work. I can't quit because it's difficult to find another job and I have bills to pay.
I just don't know what to do now, really hate it!

You are covered by the Equality Act for work issues if you have a long standing illness/disability. Ask to see Occupational Health if your company have one or contact your union if you are a member. Check the ACAS website for advice. Hope you get things sorted.

They are getting occupational health involved now which is good, also the hospital letter has arrived and it explains everything so hopefully they won't give me anymore hassle. This stress doesn't help things at all
