Subject: Metotrexato

Hi, I discovered this forum tonight and thought I would ask a question on behalf of my husband. He has psoriatic arthritis, he has had it now for over 40 years (he is coming up to 62) A year ago the Dr put him onto Metotrexato as he had been on the same tablets for 40 years. He has had 3 monthly blood tests and they have been fine- his liver is good and his glucose too. The last blood test came back with a very high glucose count. I have been checking his bloods with my test machine this past week (I am diabetic) and he has been getting high readings. He is getting a full blood count done next week. Has anyone else had a high glucose count after taking Metotrexato (He takes 12.5mg once a week, followed by a folic acid tablet 2 days later)

Hi Pamela, Sorry no one has answered your post. It is always a bit quiet at the week-end. I can't help you at all but maybe some one else will reply soon.
Try not to worry get his bloods done and take it from there. At least you are able to keep a check on it at home. Remember to get your husband to tell the GP.
Take care and hope all goes well for your husband.
