Everyone in this world will eventual get arthritis because of the wear and tear of life. My book is an informative and accurate understanding of a simple read on arthritis.

I appreciate this is a Chat forum but what do people chat about, is it just about how much pain we are in and that nothing works or things work and go off, If somebody brings in information on Diet or new supplement or even book about how things helped them and they want to share this with others where is harm done. No one is forcing anyone to buy and sell things on this forum and I hardly think posting a link is advertising to sell unless it convinces someone enough to do their own research to buy it.

This is a Forum to chat and give support and to understand and share information with each other because we only know how we feel and how others who suffer feel.

Saying not allowed is harsh and dismissing everything linked to word CURE is very dismissive.

I'm sorry but I feel any information to Help us should be welcome on this Forum.

Hi Suz

I am possibly one of the more open minded on here - regarding weird cures including diet changes - but I try to reconcile any claim back to recorded science.

Sometimes however even when I see the science I have to question it - I haven't read the book but did go to amazon to read the many glowing reviews.

I then followed up on Pete's suggestion for Reliv - which are supplements that rely heavily on Soya proteins. Especially one called lunasin. (Which they claim is an amino acid)

The science for safety of soya proteins is completely split - but with my vote falling on it not being a miracle cure for this thing that and the other - including ladies issues. Rather that they are dangerous and introduced against the advice of FDA scientist that resigned when mass soya was allowed in to the food chain.

The Reliv supplements that Pete has mentioned are probably associated with the book - and are some sort of viral marketing.

that is what I see happening here - links and information yes I agree with you - but direct marketing and advertising no.

Given that the book is so short and actually still quite pricey - why doesn't Pete just summarise the information for free - which is what I would do if I ever write a book.

Youtube is full of people offering cures - but demanding money - whereas some like Barbara Alllen give you the low down on their tretments and cure and then offer the book as a reference and guide.

Sorry guys just take a look at this.....

http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/A1S9NVUXA6TLMU/ref=cm_cr_pr_pdp

This is a link to all the books that another reviewer of Pete's book has "purchased" and "read"..... Look at the dates, the reviews and he titles of the books.... It is laughable......

You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to uncover something fishy... These are a fake network of reviewers and reviews!

Even if the information is OK (as I believe heavily that diet plays a role) - Personally I think it is criminal to creat false reviews for books... This same link is posted on arthritis information sites around the world, along with links to his Alzheimer's and Cancer books.... He is set to make 10s perhaps 100s of thousands of pounds.

That's great news you have found this person to be doing a dodgy sale and using forums to do this kind of tactic.

But it doesn't mean everyone here who brings some information here is trying to sell and make millions, this were we need to buckle up with the information and find out its authenticity. No can dupe someone to buying something unless someone feels it right for them. I know we CANNOT advertise to sell on here but sharing information is no harm really. I think it makes you someone more wary on what is real and what is false. Change the negative into something positive I say, anyway my opinion everyone has their own thoughts and opinions.

I'm glad Sean your on the ball of finding new information every time no wonder you found this to be dubious.

Marlene if you read my posts perhaps you will understand that I am totally against hard selling on this forum and any other site. You ask why I never feel very welcome. Hi Jackie, I don't think any one is narrow minded to new treatments it is just a lot of people on here have had Arthritis of one kind or another for many years. Like myself I have OA and have spent so much money on alternative medicines and nothing has ever worked. I have also purchased books telling me if I live life their way I will be ok. Thirty years later I am still suffering and I might add after surgeries and pain killers life is still difficult.
This forum has been uplifting for me. Sean is so well read and supply's information to us and it is absolutely free. I can shout and whine no one minds.
I also talk about things I do in my daily life. Theatre Cinema out for a meal holidays ect. I can ask for advice about where to go on holiday.
Regardless of what other people think this forum is not just about talking about pain.
Every one has an opinion we might not always agree with it but we are all grown ups on here and don't take it personally. Please always feel able to post on here every one is welcome.
Take care X

Jackie, I'm confused. I've found some threads where you've had discussion about AP therapy and people are interested. Ive also found threads where you and I have discussed things. So I'm not sure why you feel unwelcome. I admit I don't like people insisting on pushing their point of view on others, I don't think you've done that, but some have.

My intolerance is with people posting miracle cures and flogging stuff on here, Caroline. That does irritate me because I think it is taking advantage of people in a vulnerable position and it happens with regularly.

The book might be OK - and it herbs might people but my concern is that the way the book is promoted.

The author Peter Samonis - AKA Petros Samaris (I found his facebook page)

On his facebook page Petros Samaris belongs to a facebook group where Amazon authors give reviews on eachothers books. The reviews on Amazon are fake and hurried! Some of the reviewers that has reviewed this book had reviews 20 books in two days!

I do not trust people that operate in this way - and I do not trust this book!

There are better books to buy that will help arthritis more. IMHO.

Firstly, this is entirely racist. One Greek guy is not another. I researched it too and they are actually different people. I believe if you email or Facebook this two men and you will see that each have a different Facebook pages. As a Greek myself and a person living in Europe, there is nothing wrong with promoting a book. Just not on the website. Let's talk about more serious issues like arthris. If you want to talk about this subject to him. Just email him. There are herbs that help certain diseases, it is scientifically proven. If you any concerns, ask a doctor near by.

Sean, on the reviews, they are all spread apart as I can see. There is nothing fishy about the reviews. I would be more concerned if the reviews were together all at once. Well you can argue what you want. I hate people attack books that they assume that the book has the wrong information. There is no reason to destroy a book because you wouldn't like if someone did it to you. Let's talk about arthritis. Your opinion is completely respected.

Rhona,

I am well read also and I have read a lot of books. I have two rooms full of books. When reading a topic, you read many opinions and accumulate your own opinions. I read many books, articles or blogs about different topics and I never post anything demeaning for anyone's book. No book is completely bad. Some people need to be explained the book's reasoning. It is like explaining and constructing an argument a masters or thesis paper. I do not like it when people mock a book. They did not have to buy it. Sean writes his opinion but he demeans someone else. What goes around comes around.

Dear Mr. Samaris

I am not attacking the book or the information that the book might contain and I am certainly not a racist. It is purely the way you are trying to market this book.

When you first posted on here I simply searched for other books published by Pete Samonis. I then searched for your book on Alzheimer's came up on YOUR Facebook page.

I notice that you have wisely tightened your Facebook security to friends only. I also notice that most of the Amazon reviews have disappeared, only 3 left - where did they go?

I thank you for opening my eyes to the practice of Verified and Unverified Author Review Exchanges. As I will now always look at Amazon reviews in a completely different light. This might seem like a misdemeanour but to falsify or exchange free quick reviews with other authors just seems flatly wrong.

I wish you well with your revised marketing strategy - I am sure if your books do cure people from arthritis, Alzheimer's and cancer then we will be hearing more about you in the future.

Nothing in the world is written in stone. Even the word of God is hidden in this world. The only God has the solutions for any problems but we believe that we are smarter than him. If you have an issue with Mr. Samaris Facebook him. I see your concerns with verified and non verified reviews but we don't know actually if he is doing it. You are assuming. BTW - I'm not religious :)- Just to reiterate I am a diet follower for arthritis myself and funnily enough we have common ground because I do think we are told the full truth. Referring to your Reliv link (and DrTed) -I also take lots of minerals for my arthritis - including Magnesium. I will look with an open mind... but Reliv looks like a huge Multi - layer Pyramid Marketing with "believiers" 60,000 + selling their products on behalf of a big corporation creaming in huge profits!

Is it a scam? With 60,000+ sellers then there must be enough profits for them to provide better published evidence - as to the efficacy of the multiviatmin / minerals that they are selling. I will look further as I have an interest in nutrition. Why dont they publish the ingredients for Reliv?

All this talk promotes the subject and book more - so I will leave others to decide.
