Subject: Interesting research from Bristol University - Immunotherapy

Just sharing...

http://www.bris.ac.uk/news/2014/september/autoimmune-disease.html

I hope for everybody that this gets some traction - as the focus here in this research is on immunotherapy against the antigens that are causing the auto-immune response. Side effects would probably be quite low.

A bit like the old dust mite injections :)

Sort of related - a researcher / doctor got his business closed down and bankrupted due to trying to raise money from patients for a similar treatment in the UK.

Dr McEwan's work has been followed up on in the US and is practiced in a number of private clinics in the UK too - (low dose allergen to regulate T-cell responses)
