Subject: How is Everyone?

Hi, just thought I'd start a thread to see how everyone is doing and how you are managing in this heat and humidity, especially as it's set to rise this week.

Hope everyone is doing ok? I'm seeing some improvement on tocilizumab infusions (ESR is 2 which is a bit of a miracle!!! and joints in my hands much less painful) but my liver enzymes aren't happy so it's a bit of a wait and see. On a half dose for my fourth infusion.

Am suffering in this heat, I know haha Baa Humbug :)

It's driving the fluid in my legs and feet crazy and even making my fingers swell! Coming to the end of two weeks of water tablets, just as the heat is about to ramp up...arghh!

Trying to find somewhere to live on one level as stairs are not my friend any more and get a cleaner in but it's slow going and struggling a bit at home.

Gone part time but had an out of the blue stress about an office move this morning which upset me, there were tears and Kalms tablets haha (I am an emotional kinda girl) :( I'm sure it will work out though, just a lot of change.

It's not all bad though, it's nice to be able to come on here and just let off some steam :)

How are you all doing?

Hi Eve,

Seems you have a bit of stress to deal with as well as RA. Its hard enough with an illness.
It seems that whatever meds we all get nothing is 100%.
Hope you can solve your housing problems soon. Maybe a stairlift would be an option!
Change can be unsettling and it seems the modern way as it happens with everything, health care, education and business in general. Its a lot of stress now compared to years ago.

Anyway I wish you well Eve hope you can at least enjoy the good weather.

hi Eve , sounds like tocilizumab doing something , my ESR is 2 on it as well but my CRP sometimes is below 5 & other times 55 & 116 on the infusion , having my 5th on the 5/8/14 so thought it should have worked if it was going to , think I need to go on the B cell treatment myself .

my fingers/hand & even up my arms is swelling with the fluids coming out my joints , can be very painful , as for your legs/feet I would recommend a V3 Circulation Booster , it works like a TENS M/C & helps pump the fluids around through your calf muscles & as emm said look into a stairlift , some places rent them or ask your occupational therapist & could be alot cheaper than moving
