Subject: good news

hi everyone, good news at last, I have a date for my elbow replacement, the 18th of july, so only 7 days away, but I am worried sick, about being put under, never felt like this before,i guess its the COPD and being away from my hubby, do anyone know how long I will be in for, I go in on Friday at 7am, so im guessing the op will be before lunch time,

Hi Sue, it will be over before you know it. It's best to keep calm before an op, so try not to be anxious about it. Make sure you have a conversation with the anesthetist before you go to theatre. My dad has COPD and had an op very successfully.

Hi Sue, not long to wait. Sue don't worry about being put under. They will have your welfare first and fore most. Just let them know you are worried as Bsk said and they will lay all those fears aside. Lots of people suffer with COPD and have to be put under. The anesthetist (spelling)
will look after you.
Wishing you all the best and after you will wonder what all the concern was for.

They won't keep you any longer than necessary.
Take care.

I wish I could just have a local anaesthetic, but I know I cant have that, xx

no need to be worried Sue, you will be in good hands, I always find it is better to let them know you are frightened rather than pretend your not, plus when I am scared I cant smile properly I look like a cat with frozen lips so its best for me to tell them or else they think I have got something else wrong with me!!!!!

Just think of the attention you will get when you go home plus it will all be worth it.

will think of you on Friday.

Hi Sue

They have suggested replacement for me, was recommended keyhole at first due to being in my thirties but then elbow replacement was my choice as I really do not want to go ahead with 2 types of surgery. I'm still waiting for surgery date, I understand the pain every single movement is just painful.

I do hope it goes well for you. Please let us know

All the best Once againxx
