Subject: hi need some advice

I have arthritis in my neck and have the injections. But symptoms have changed now have strange pressure build up in neck itself, raging headache which travels from left top to right forehead, tingles in both hands and a really strange feeling like cobwebs across my face which I keep trying to get rid of. AAny ideas anyone

Hi Steffi

My neck was one of the most uncomfortable areas of my active arthritis (Ankylosing Spondylitis). I also used to have regular headaches - where tightness would spread up in to my skull and cause migraines - I had to go in a dark room and sleep.

I was prescribed (by a naturopath) to take magnesium supplements for my arthritis - and these have cut my headaches down by about 90%.

If you read this medical advice it mentions migraine with aura and tingling - it mentions magnesium as mainstream therapy - and also food tiggers that I believe are not only linked to migraine but to joint pains also -

You might also want to read this article from an alternative practicioner that has researched the role of magnesium defficiency in disease.

Hope you can find something that works for you!

Hi Steffi, my advice would be to see your GP or your Rhumy team. We should never assume anything.

You would be better off getting it checked.

I have pins and needles in my fingers from OA but I always get new symptoms checked to be sure that it is my arthritis.

Take care and hopefully you will be able to get things sorted.

I usually do say check with doc also.... Marlene is right best to check with doctor.

But 95% doctors will disregard anything "alternative".

I personally do not assume anything - nothing is straightforward and there is no magic cure - but there is increasingly stronger medication.

Holistic doctors would routinely look at many areas that most doctors would ignore such as mineral balance.

Steffi, do get that checked out. None of us on here are doctors so can't really advise you on what to do.
