Subject: singing to release tension

Does anyone else find that singing helps their pain? I am not a good singer but when I am in pain I like to sing to release the tension even although my partner thinks I sound like a cat screeching but I think it helps to take my mind of it.

Yup!

There's a lot of evidence that singing is good for people's well-being. It releases tension, improves lung function, reduces stress, boosts 'happy hormones' and generally makes people feel good. :) There's an overview of research here: http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=RSwGeGeK_HwC&pg=PA114&lpg=PA113&ots=m-347h5bkC&focus=viewport&dq=singing+wellbeing+and+health&lr=&output=html_text

Singing is an important part of the way I manage my pain and my health generally.

I find it all quite funny. Perhaps someone could start a new topic telling jokes or funny stories. I would start one but I can never remember any jokes. Just the one where the man goes into the doctor and says "Doctor, everyone keeps ignoring me" and the doctor says "next please" Sorry, that really was childish, lol.
