hi kylee , thats new on me , RA can attack the eyes & jaw & pretty much any major organ ie heart & lung ,

here it mentions "Inflammation of the blood vessels (rheumatoid vasculitis), which can lead to skin, nerve, heart, and brain problems" but not sure thats anything to do with it , would talk to your GP or Rheumy nurse , july is to long to wait & worry about

Thanks colin, I do plan to book a doctors appointment this wk to find out what is going off. I am also having a lot of problems with my sight so also need to get this check out. Just thought I would run it by everybody on here to see iIf anyone else had heard of this. It mentions on the mri report that it is gliosis but that is here nor their and can cover a variety of conditions

Hi Kylee

I had not ever read that arthritis could affect the brain. I am aware though that another autoimmune disease Celiac is known to sometimes affect the brain (ataxia), and can also cause epilepsy and eyesight issues. There are even strong ties to other neurological diseases such as Huntingtons and MS with gluten sensitivity.

My arthritis too is sensitive to gluten / wheat and corn.

It is really worth getting tested for this and I am not sure if they do it routinely for arthritis or other conditions.

thanks sean i am at my doctors later today so i will run your suggestion passed him. MS has defenetly been ruled out now. I know i have scaring on the optic nerve as this was found 2years ago and te scaring on the brain has got bigger over 12months. my eye sight is defently an issue at the moment too the point i will not drive at the moment. I am also suffering with migrains. that just do not go away as soon as i wake up in the mornings the migrain is their, all day. sometimes the migrains wake me up in the middle of the night.

Kylee
I suffered from bad migraines before I was gluten free - I used to come home from work and just go to a dark room and sleep from 6pm.
I am not sure if doctors test for other deficiencies but in the early days of my treatment under a Natropath I was put on Vitamin A drops for my night vision.
Check with a practicioner that knows this stuff - again I have no idea whether mainstream doctors test for these things.
Good luck later!

hi sean just got in from my g.p, he has given me some migrain tablets to try and have to return in 2 weeks to see if my sight has improved and if my migrains have lessend. he was keen to try and treat the migrains before ruling anything else out. fingers crossed the tablets may help. if not i willl make sure i push for these tests. my gp is very nice and supportive and seems to understand my health very well. so I am sure if i ask him he will test for other things
