Subject: flare up after a fright

Hi all
Just wondering if any of you got a major flare after a fright
My little man was sick on Tues took him to the gp and he ended up having a bad chest infection and he also has asthma
To make a long story short the poor little man had a major asthma attack a few hours latter
We live 10 mile away from go in a very remote area and I had to make the 15 minutes drive into town with him all the time trying to stay calm for his sake but thinking all the time he is going to stop breathing
Got to the gp and he sorted him out in less than two hours and little man is great to day
Any way yesterday I woke up in bits hands feet shoulders knee
I would be interested to hear if any thing like this has happened to any of you after getting a fright
Hugs to all
Tara

Hi Tara, I often feel much sorer when I get stressed about things, so I would say it definitely plays a big part in it and I was also told by a Professor of Rheumatology that stress can trigger RA off.

I hope your little man is much better now. xx

Tara I hope little one is okay now it is frightening.

I believe that it was stress that brought my RA on, my little grandson for some reason started to suffer horrific panic attacks, he couldn't breath and thought he was dying, (the adrenalin was stopping him from breathing) it was very frightening for us all.

Although I gave 100% support as I always have done, my daughter said some very hurtful things to me which really really hurt, so much so that I felt as if I had had my heart torn out. Things are okay now and I know she was stressed as well but nevertheless I do think that this episode of stress and fear caused me to get RA in the first place.

Tara, yes stress does bring on flare ups.
I am so pleased your son is well now, asthma is a horrible thing too. You must have been so frightened at the time. I totally understand how the next day you were ill with arthritis.
Bet you were worn out.
I hope all has calmed down for you now and your son is doing well.
Love to you and your little one. Emm
