Subject: herbal cream and methotrexate

hi its lol i started on methotrexate on thur my rummy nurse told me to stop my herbal tablets for gulcose intolerance does anyone know can you use a herbal cream for the inflammatory arthritis pain in your hands or is it all herbal things you have to stop i haven't started using the cream yet just got it. also if you are going to have side effects how long does it take the met to kick in im frightened im just going to be wiped out one day lol

I was also told not to take anything which also included over the counter vitamins etc. but I don't know about cream.
When I went onto Mtx I increased each week till I was taking 8, it took about 8 weeks to kick in and to be honest I didn't have any side effects apart from feeling a bit tired the day after. I took for a few months but it didn't work as much as they hoped so they put me onto self injections which I did for about 4 months but to be honest I didn't like doing it so I have gone back onto tablets but now take 10 once a week. I always make sure I have mine with or after food and always take on its own not with my other tablets. Hope it works for you.
