I've just done some googling and from what I've read it's a generic drug, it's probably cheaper than MTX. From what I understand MTX isn't really an expensive drug anyway. Looks like it's penny pinching. If I was you I would ring my specialist nurse up and see what's happening.

Thanks Paula-yes could be penny pinching. The box is different from my normal metoject- it looks like a cheap copy. It's bad enough having to have an injection every week without having to worry if the right drug is in the box. How do they get away with selling it like that? I was we'll controlled on Metoject and now I don't feel confident of this version. I'll phone my nurse on Monday :( Mgt

I googled on Drugs.com and it says it is made in Italy. Sometimes they import drugs from European countries if there is a shortage here. I've had Spanish drugs before but they are the same. Generic drugs should be identical to the non generic ones. It's just a different name. I'm surprised your pharmacist didn't know that.

Hiya Mgt. I have a mild form of RA. This sounds very similar to something I've been taking for a couple of years. It's called REUMALEX, but its a herbal product - is it the same company? Wonder if they've mixed it up? Take care now

OMG! So you think I may have a herbal medicine instead of MTX!? This is all so confusing. Thank goodness my injection is not until Wednesday. I need to talk to nurse.

hiya mgt really feel sorry for you. I had similar experience. Im a single mum and my 4 yr old daughter Zoe was told last year she had some kind of arthritis. I was totally freaked out when she had to get mtx inject. Wasn't as bad as I thought just a wee but sore when I have her the jab we got some nice info packs. then one time we also got the cheap metojet injections and it said reumaflex. I totally paniked as I thought it was wrong drugs and didnt want to jab Zoe. I phoned specilist nurse who said it shouldn't say a different name and that I should insist to my chemist that I got the proper metojet. My chemist is brilliant with Zoe so she got us the proper injections. So all happy. I know how you feel I think it's terrible that the company can get away with putting different name on injection and different name on box how are we meant to know its the same? Were not doctors! Tell your chemist you insist on getting the proper metojet good luck xxx

Aw lovely to hear from you Babs! I thought I was paranoid! Thanks for your support. It seems they care more for profit than they do for patients and parents like us! Glad to hear young Zoe doing well. Take care and I'll let you know what my rheum nurse says xx

Hi Mgt, I've been on metoject for 3 months, but it makes me feel ill. Had to lower my dose. Feel like I have the flu, head all fuzzy and so tired. Wondered if you had any similar symtoms.

Hi Linda. So sorry to hear you are struggling. I was on sulfasalazin then mtx tablets- both made me feel really bad. The injections have been great. No side effects. I guess it affects some people more than others. Hang in there xx
