Wrists and elbows were sore too which im used too but i feel shivery one minute and hot the next.

Hi Toni, Sorry you are feeling unwell. Shivering and then feeling hot is a sign of infection. I would get yourself checked out. Do you have a walk in centre or A&E close to you. At least see your GP tomorrow.
I hope you feel better soon take care sweetheart.

Thank you for your reply.
Touch wood the shivery flu like feeling has worn off.
i just feel achey now in my legs and lower back.few of my fingers are tender and wrist and elbows ache.
Could this be a mild flare. Promised my kids a trip to a farm today to watch the lambing so i can't let them down.
Think my other half thinks i moan for no reason so need to pull myself together.
Never really experienced the muscle aches before and wondered if it was a common factor in ra.
I have a rheumatologist appt in two weeks so im trying to hang on until then.
Just feel so exhausted xx

Thank you Colin.
Maybe go and get some gel tomorrow then.
Had body aching before but never really muscle soreness like this. Was a bit of a shock.
Maybe that could explain my painful achilles i have been having recently too.
Have done nothing to injure them both so i was struggling to understand why they hurt.
Maybe its related too xx

Almost like i have been sitting on my feet.
Sometimes in my hands too.
Its very strange.
Hope the dvd helps. Would be lovely to feel so relaxed xx

I've got fibro as well as RA so get muscle symptoms from that.

Is it definitely the muscles in your thighs that ache? I get troncanteric bursitis which causes pain on the outside of my thighs and that gets really painful. I have had steroids injected into both hips at rhumatology which helped a lot.

I'm hoping for some more soon as it's flared up again but need it ultrasound guided as I don't have small hips (the perks of steroids, other drugs and lack of mobility huh!).

I also find that as I'm not very mobile, I tend to ache more if I overdo things as my muscles aren't so used to it. I try to make sure I do some gentle moving and stretching after so they don't cause more problems.

A relaxing bath might help if you can manage that? The radox bath salts and bath stuff are good and I tend to chuck a load of dead sea salts in there too.

I learnt some good relaxation techniques from meditation classes and occupational health, they help me relax and conserve some energy. My favourite is the "rag doll", just letting everything relax like a rag doll. Good for when sitting, travelling on buses etc...

I think bursitis is RA related, I also have it in my feet and in both shoulders causing impingement and have steroid injections in my shoulders too.

Hope you feel better soon!

Hi Eve.
I too have bilateral bursitis in my hips. Had a steroid injection in my worse side but found it so painful afterwards for about five days i could barely do anything.
It was so inflamed im too scared to try again. My bursitis pain im kinda used to sadly but this ache was different.
At the moment its gone thankfully. Lasted a couple of days though.
How long have you had bursitis ?
Somedays are better then others but it never goes and has been over a year.
In fact it was one of the first things to get me to my docs then all my other symptoms appeared xx

Hello Toni. I have PSA and osteoarthritis in knees and now been told its in my toes and neck. Iv also got fibro. What you was saying about muscle ache and flu like symptoms are sounding how I am. My feet get painful and goes up the back of leg calf/muscle. Maybe worth talking to your gp/rheumy Dr. They test by pressure points and your symptoms your having. Hope you get some answers.
Helen. Xx

Hello Helen.
I know people may think im a hyperchondriac ( if that is how its spelt ) but i did google my symptoms when they first appeared and fybromyalgia was one explanation.
Never a good idea to look up medical problems i know but i needed answers.
A few of my points are tender but not all so when i
questioned my gp they said unlikely.
Can you have fybromyalgia and ra ?
It would be a good thing to bring up at my next hospital appt as im having other weird things going on now too which i didn't before.
Not on meds yet so it can't be that. Im suffering pressure type headaches a lot just lately and having dizzy spells every now and then.
Feel like im going bonkers as there is always something.
Where is a miracle cure when we need it ? Lol xx

Hi Toni

I was dx with ra 3 years ago, luckily it has gone into remission but I have had lots of muscle trouble for nearly a year, it is thought I have a connective tissue disorder, get them to test you for that

Hi Toni

I have been taking a number supplements to help my arthritis and related symptoms - my foot pain from plantir fasciitis is now very rare to non existent.

Rarely mentioned in forums is the mineral manganese but is used in enzyme processes in the body - Pineapple is high in manganese. It is often measured as low in people with autoimmune diseases.
