Subject: on no medication and feel awful
Hello. Not been up to posting for couple of weeks. Have been taken off leflumemide due to side effects was told to wait three weeks then rhuemy nurse will be in touch. Still waiting. Joints are swollen painful hands are like claw shape mornings and stiff to pull out. Feet are so painful to walk end of the day I hobble to move from a to b. Fibro just doesn't seem to give me any rest either. Decided to ring rhuemy nurses up tomorrow any advice what I should insist on asking them. That was my third drug in 20 months. Thanks Helen. X

Hi Helen, sorry to hear you are in so much pain. Can't they give you a steroid injection to tide you over?

Hi Helen, how awful for you as Bsk said try for a Steroid Injection. Tell them you are in too much pain to be left with nothing. Good luck and take care x

Hi Helen, I hope you got some satisfaction with the nurse today. It is horrible being left in pain like that. I agree that you should get a steroid injection to help a bit. Do you take anti-inflammatory's? I don't like them but they may help to ease the pain a bit until you get sorted out with something else. Take care and don't be frightened to make a noise, I remember one of the nurses once telling me that it's the ones that shout the loudest that get seen to quicker. xx

Thanks for replies. I phoned my rheumy nurse said that I need help and unsure where we go from here. Anyway I was lucky had an appt yesterday to see a nurse. Lovely nurse who id seen before. She then went of to speak to the consultant next minute came in to SPK to me. Did all the same tests and said that fibro is the one I need treatment on so iv been put forward to physio gym and water and for physio to report back every 6wks. Cannot sort out arthritis cos my silly nurse at drs hasn't been doing crp bloods even tho I go every two weeks. So bloods done there and then and wait for call to see if iv got inflammation as looking at me he doesn't think so. Bad day today could just about put one foot in front of other knees has osteoarthritis which are playing up so that doesn't help. Consultant said iv got osteo in couple toes and neck but said I have to get on with it. I'm in bed not knowing what to do with myself. Thanks Helen. X
