Subject: SUdden flare up of arthritis
Has anybody experienced a sudden flare up with severe pains in every joint Ihave been immobile in bed for the last 4days and I am feeling rather scared. My doctor has prescribed extra bu Trans patches and liquid morphine and I am a bit apprehensive about what effects to expect

Hi Colin thanks for your e.mail Ihave had a visit from nurses and the doctor has called and altered my medication the nurse took some blood for a renal test. Hope I can keep the medication down as when in hospital it made me sick increased patches to from 25 micros to 40micros + 1/4 teaspoon liquid opium regards Pam

Pam , what arthritis you got ? mine & bsk are both RA & I spent 3 weeks in hospital this year because in so much pain I could not do anything apart from being taken to hospital my CRP endded up at 340 at one point & on high dose steriods even 4 weeks later & had to stop my biologic because they thought that maybe the cause of it

I thought it was osteo. For many years(iam81)but this morning out of the blue the doctor said I have poliomyelitis rhuemalgia

I have asked about steroids but my doctor is very reluctant to give it to me for some reason he did mention it was bad for my bones but last scan showed o.k
