I had FIVE this week. One with good results, two with not so good and two I don't know yet. The ultrasound showed I had very bad synovitis in my shoulder joint and damage to the joint and that I had synovitis in my thumb joint - the one I was repeatedly told was OA. Not so, no signs of it. So injections into both and can just about type today but not for long. So much for no disease activity from previous consultant.

I'm seeing my rheumy on Monday and I've a funny feeling she'll start me back on steroids, unless my bone scan was not good. To be honest, I'll be glad to get back on something. It's a bit tricky to type at the moment so will be back after the weekend. Thanks for all good wishes. xx

Perhaps there's something else they can prescribe bsk unless you can manage by on a small dose of steroid. It is difficult trying to decide what to do for the best. Best to rest the joints after getting the injections so take it easy. xxx

Hi bsk, it is good to find out what is really going on, isn't it. At least when you get scans the results are certain. I think they guess at our diagnosis. I think we should all get tests that rule out the guessing and show the root problem. Good luck with getting the right treatment. Also with the injections. Look forward to hearing about your other results. Thinking of you.

Wow, that's a lot, thought I was busy this week with a renal scan, steroid injections in both shoulders an endoscopy and eye test Wed-Fri! Hope they can put a picture together for you and work out the best course of treatment and find something that helps and you get a good rest after all that going on last week.

You're pretty busy too, Eve! I've got four more appointments this week and I'm done for a while, I hope. I think they've got a plan for me. I had a rather toxic consultant for a few months and she really mucked things up. I've ditcher her now and have someone better. I may even try and adjust my diet a bit too! Best of luck with all your appointments, I hope they go well. and thanks to everyone for their comments.

Thanks, and to you too, hopefully just rhumo and physio this week! I had someone come in and mess up the whole plan my consultant had had for me and took me a lot of stress until I got back on track going for the biologics, frustrating but at least I'm hopefully on track again now! They do like to try us, don't they!

Hello bsk. Good luck with results and a plan of action maybe on Monday. I'm on no treatment atm. Iv tried the leflumimide again and the rash itching is back so took myself off it. I'm gonna phone the rheumy clinic nurses and demand an appt to see somebody and not a nurse. Fed up with conversations on the telephone. Keep saying im giving up on treatment cos of side effects three drugs in nearly 20mths and haven't got anywhere. Maybe having an appt will change my mind who knows. Good luck for tomorrow Helen. X

Sorry to hear of your problems, Helen. My rheumy nurse actually makes quite a lot of good decisions about my treatment but I've got the feeling she is exceptional.

Some good news from the scans, all are clear of joint erosion so no osteoarthritis. Also, a good bone scan. They've put me back on sulphasalazine. I wonder how long that will last!

Hi bsk, I am very pleased for you at the outcome of your scans. Have you had sulpha' before? I have only tried Leflunamide, which had bad side effects and Methatrexate. Often wondered if it would be any better !!!! Good luck with it, hope it helps. Emm x

Thank you Emm. Sulphasalazine isn't as strong a drug as Leflunamide. She wanted to give me that but I prefer to start on a less strong drug.

Bsk, glad the news was relatively good. I think I would prefer a lesser drug as well. Here's hoping you will soon be feeling the benefits. OA is another thing you could well do without so good news. Take care x
