Subject: I would like to recommend something if that's okay?

As you all know I've been suffering with mainly hands, hip and feet. As yet, I'm still struggling until I see the consultant (nearly 2 weeks since bone scan). BUT I have found something that relieving the pain in my hands and fingers (only been wearing for 1/2 hour). They are 'Thermoskin Arthritis Gloves'. I paid £19.73 for mine off Ebay, they come in 6 sizes I think. I'll let you know in a couple of hours what I think then. :-)

I think I was given something very similer from my O T last year they are cream and fingerless. They help with the swelling of the hands and heat. I find they help with my achey swollen hands. Not a good colour and they seem to catch and bobble. My new OT this year said I can't have another pair unless she sees how tatey mine are also one pair a year allowed. Iv seen other ones on Lloyd's pharmacy better life page. I think they are worth a try plus you can drive in them shop and get money from your purse without taking them off. Use your mobile phones and tablet key pad without taking them off as fingers are free.

Mine go up past my wrists. Iv just had a nosey on the site I first said but not selling them now. I'm also looking for a mobility scooter this site have some good ones. I feel I'm missing out on going for walks with family I can only manage a short distance which isn't enough for the dog and family. I'm fed up with being left at home or sat on the nearest bench! My OT gave me another site so will have a nosey if I can remember it. Xx

Oh thanks Helen, will have a look at them. I probably wont be able to wear them at work at the moment.. as I'm a support worker in the x ray dept and not allowed anything below the elbow. But when I start in the office I can.
Thanks again

Hi, just read your posts about the gloves. I was given a pair by my occupational therapist when I was first diagnosed, but I was told never to wear them when doing anything, only wear them when I was relaxing or use them to sleep in.

She gave me a firmer pair with wrap around Velcro straps for support to wear during the day if I needed support when doing jobs. Horrible black colour or flesh colour, why cant they do them in nice colours?

Just thought I would let people know that you can get them free. They do help, but the supportness (if that a word) does get slack with use but once washed they go back again.
