i'm still quite new to all this so can't give you any sort of answer
but I hope you are not feeling too much paid today
I could only assume that with everyone being different it would depend on each individual's case
i'm sure there are others here that will give you their take on it

Despite being on metho and sulf my hands are bad with active disease in most of my right hand and one finger so far on my left. If they don't get this under control with the right drug regime I will not have the use of them much longer. Life is already pretty challenging. I think it depends on how aggressive your disease is. My hands have been almost destroyed in about a year.
Due back at the hospital this week. I hope they don't just increase my dosage instead of trying a new drug. I'm on 20 mg of meth and 2000mg daily of sulf.

Mollynoodles , with methotrexate if you take folic acid 5mg six days a week you will be able to totorate Mtx a lot better , I been on 25mg for several years now & been on Mtx & Sulpha since 1996

with RA before Mtx everyone would get drifting of thier fingers away from your thumbs & this was because the tendons slipping over the knuckles but its very rare to see it now but dont mean you wont get any damage to joints

some of us with RA will get joint damage & end up need operations to replace/fuse or repair the tendons but the people in this group will need strong drugs along Mtx & Sulpha

lol , I would not worry to much , if you take the drugs you should be pretty much well controled

PRIMROSE , its not given out on the NHS in the UK which is a shame , anyone in the UK needs to go private to try it , the people with high RF are the ones that will suffer the most joint damage as a rule but pretty much anyone untreated can get joint damage , pleased the minocycline is working for you

Lol, I've been ok on the meth it just hasn't worked well for me. Colin, I take the folic acid 6 days a week which helps with the side effects. You should give it a go Lol, as it might work well for you. I have psoriatic arthritis which I'm told is very aggressive (mine anyway).

The hospital have increased my sulf to the same as yours 3 tabs twice daily and I'm going onto meth injections. After that my consultant has said I am going onto humira, hopefully at the beginning of summer.
Good luck Lol x

gop ... if you live in Hitchin please, please tell how/where you have received antibiotic protocol treatment. I am under the Lister and have been told AP is 'old school'. Just got funding for anti TNF but find the AP theory interesting.
