Subject: rummy nurse had me in tears

hi its lol rummy nurse phoned me today as i could not make my app because just out of hosp after knee replacement. she asked how i was and told her i had a really bad flare up in my hands. she said have you gone back on your sulfasalazine i said no the consultant that done my op said to leave it until this week to give my scar a chance to heal a bit more. she said i want to see you on the 11th of feb i hope you know you have not choice but to go on metatrexate spelling not right i have told them time and time i am not going on it as i have had really bad side effects with tablets and if i am having prob coping with the sulfa then i am not taking a chance on met she is a real bully said i was not trying to help myself i said then why am i trying these other tablets and keep having really bad side effects so fed up frightened to go on my app

Hi lol, what an experience she gave you. they don't seem to realise sometimes that you need support, not this.
I had horrid side effects from mthx tablets so they put me on injections - ask them about those to see if the injection is any different
It is your treatment and you have a say in it.
you should make sure you keep your appointment and tell her that you will not be bullied or made to feel how she makes you feel.
be brave - it's you that has to live with your condition not her and although she is trying to help she is not going about it the right way.

Oh lol, she should realise you are coping with your recent op!

Sometimes they seem so busy trying to 'just do the job' I think they forget to take the whole picture into consideration, and peoples feelings.

I agree with Willis, it is your choice as to what you take.
I have had RA a lot of years and I have my say as to what suits me.
We have to live with it after all.
Keep the apptmt, and stick to your guns.

How's the knee, hope things are good with it.
