Subject: Developed an annoying side effect with Gabapentin
I've been taking gabapentin for 10 days and I've noticed I've developed a twitch. This, apparently is a common side effect. Does anyone else suffer with these? Also, if you do, do these twitches get worse the higher the dose you take?

Hi Rachael, I would speak to your gp if you have any concerns. My husband was on Gabapentin lucky for him he had no side effects at all. They were his saviour he had been in pain bed ridden for three months waiting for surgery for a shattered disc. He was up and about within two days. He has now had his back surgery. He was only on the drug for three weeks. Take care Rachael and I hope you get your answers. Are they helping with the pain by the way? x

Marlene, I'm still in pain, but it's taken the edge of a little. Sean, my Dr prescribed it along with tram adolescent for the pain as my rheumatologist seems to be messing me about treatment wise.

Hi Rachael, sorry it doesn't seem to have the same effect on you as my hubby. How much is your dosage my husband took three at night. Sean, Gabapentin works for pain as it switches off the nerve endings that cause pain. Like many other drugs this has several uses . Take care

I have to say he was still taking Tramadol Morphine and co-codamol. The Gabapentin with all of this left him achy rather than in pain. I am not suggesting you need all of the above my husband was only on all the meds for a short while 5 months altogether. I have to say again he was being treated for a splintered disc in his back and was waiting for surgery. I would see your GP again when my husband was given Gabapentin he was told that this can be given in fairly high doses so the GP would be happy to up the dose until he was a the correct level. Maybe you should have a chat with the GP. Take care chin up!!
