Subject: Question about when you have your meds right.

I know this sounds silly, but, when you have your meds just right, are you pain free.

I NEVER have a day when I'm pain free and it's wearing me down, I've just been to slimming world and had to get the lift as my foot and knee are so sore.

hi Rachael , I can only use a hydro pool because the cold in normal pools makes my joints stiffen up , hydro pool will do you so much good if there is one around you

the answer to the other question is no..ish , some people do realy well when its under control but alot of us just not found the right comdination that works & if you end up with joint damage you will never be pain free

personaly dont take any painkillers but some will dull the pain like the patches you can get , alot of people are the same & find painkillers loss thier effect & after nearly 20 years with it , just got used to the pain

I'm interested to know if there is anyone out there that feels that there meds are "right", keep them completely pain free and are sure! that their medication will halt their joint damage in the long run.

I keep seeing posts (on other sites relating to my own AS) for people that have been on the best medication and appear to have been monitored by doctors for a long time but are still going in for operations on hips, knees and shoulders.

I am never completely pain free, but I do have joint damage and I agree with Colin that makes a difference.
Saying that I don't think I was ever even in the early days!
