you need to talk to your specialist nurse or consultant, Rachael as there are differing views on how much you are advised to drink. I was told 6 units a week and none on the day of taking the mtx or the day after.

You should also be aware that you shouldn't take any over the counter meds/alternative drugs/cold remedies, etc. unless you have discussed it with your nurse. Mine told me 'anything outside, nothing inside.'

hi Rachael , you need to check with your rheummy nurse about what advice they give , you can have some alcohol & if there is a problem it will show up on your monthly blood test

for some reason people with PsA they have more problems with liver damage if they drink & its recomended they dont drink at all but those of us with RA can like bsk said but check with your rheumy nurse

When I last saw my rheumatologist, she did say that because I've had psoriasis all my life that it could well be Psoriasis arthritis, but because it's treated the same as RA that she diagnoses me as having Inflammatory Arthritis.

Rachie , when I get my blood done at my GP they give me a booklet to update the results , its done by the National Patient Safety Agency & they say 2-3 units for women & 3-4 for men & if you have psoriasis it may be recommended that you advoid alcolhol altogether , you should be able to get this booklet from your surgery
