Subject: sed rate / crp

Hello, could someone tell me if sed rate fluctuates quicker than crp. If you had a cold when blood test was done what result would it have more of an influence on? I was ill at time blood was drawn & sed rate remained the same as last time, but crp had gone up. Thanks in advance.

The crp changes quicker than the sed rate and can be more accurate as far as I am aware but I wouldn't worry too much if it goes up and down slightly. Inflammation or infection can cause both to rise. My crp has been over 200 in the past although that was when my inflammation was out of control.
