thanks colin what are you taking lol
i am back on sulfasalazine starting with two a day for two weeks then go on 3 this is the third time i have been on it i have had bad side effects so they took me of it also this time my liver test come back high but the consultant said he wants to put me on methotrexate he said it would be ok.not sure about that said i would try the sulfasalazine again he said ok but when you go up on your dose you will get side effects again there is noway i am going on methotexate too frightend what do you think lol

hi lol , think you got every right to be worried , had this problem with methotrexate but never with sulfa , my consultant ask for blood test every week when they increased meth & think you should have this as well , you wont get long term damage if its picked up early (ie ALT over 130)

if you go on meth get regular blood test & high dose folic acid

I had four attempts to get up to the full dose of Sulfasalazine and eventually I got there. Just need to take it a little slower than normal to get up to the maximum dose, for me that is two tablets in the morning and two tablets at night.
