Hi Angie :-) Even at my worst when I was in the most excruciating agony all over confined to bed my ear/crp were not sky high and now (taking steroids/celebrex/morphine) they are 22/6 but I still have lots of pain. There is a Seronegative inflammatory arthritis which I think I have and you most probably do too - it doesn't necessarily show up in the blood. As my Rheumatologist says - he doesn't treat blood results he treats the whole person (bloods and symptoms) :-) Really sorry you are having such pain. It isn't easy and it is such a hard illness to treat. Take great care xx

hi Angie, at my worst (when I couldn't dress myself or walk) my crp and esr were only moderately elevated and, since I've been on steroids, they are both very low. It does feel hard to explain why you are feeling so rotten when the blood tests state things are under control but a good rheumy knows this can happen when you are taking meds that are partially controlling the condition. I'm on a low dose of steroids at the moment which are keeping me mobile but not without pain and swelling and my last results were perfectly normal.
