Subject: Iron Tablets

Hi, do any of you take iron.
I am taking methatrexate and folic acid the previous day, 4 mg of prednisolone daily, calcichew, and tramadol 50mg once a day, sometimes twice on a bad day. Random paracetemol.
I have done nothing today as am so fatigued. But sometimes wonder is it the tramadol making me fatigued
Does anyone taking the same meds take prescribed iron tablets?
Thought I would ask you all before going to ask GP.
Thanks.

Hello Emm. I take mtx x8 and folic acid x 6a wk. Tramadol x 8 daily,MST x 4 a day pregabalin x 2 a day plus other non pain tablets iv just come off iron tablets as iron levels are now 11.4 before it was 8.9 due to bleeding on bowel movements. This is a trial as now off iron tab and level goes down more investigations. Fingers crossed.
Hope this helps. Iv taken tramadol for years and have always had a job never felt tired but since last year being diagnosed iv done nothing but sleep im thinking due to pa and now fibromylargia. Iv known people to try tramadol but cannot cope as made them sleepy. Like most drugs it does take time to get into system and the sleepy feeling goes.

Emm
my iron was a little low so had to take one a day for a while. it may be the tramadol contributing to the fatique but is it helping the pain and symptoms of your condition? even if a take a paracetamol i feel tired and fatigued but i think it's the painkiller helping the pain and therefore it relaxes my body a bit but the weariness, fatigue etc i feel also -
The most common side effects observed with tramadol include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, dry mouth, and sedation - just found this on google so maybe the sedation part is your fatigue!
hope you find some energy soon xx

Thanks for my responses, from what you say I am thinking it is Tramadol.
I haven't been on them long and I cannot remember being this tired before, not to this extent! I feel chilled out in the head too, if you know what I mean.
I think I will get a change of painkiller, and see if that helps.
It is blood test day tomorrow too, so can discuss my iron levels.
Thanks for the advice. Wishing you a good day. X
