When I moved to this house I found walking, wore me out after 20 minutes that was in 1980. However now I love to walk. In 2001 our daughter had pains in her leg and our lovely GP sent her to the homopatic hospital because she said that the only place that tests mineral levels. So our daughter was told that she was low in Magnesium. So she was given an injection of Magnesium. Then she went to our health food shop and was told about chelated Magnesium. Being a nurse I looked at the research in to Magnesium and I found doctors research on the need for Magnesium going back 60 years but their research is ignored. So on line 12 years ago I found Update Magnesium written by Krispen and I think she deserves a noble prize becase she has helped so my people with her web pages not making any money from it. I would advise everyone to read Update Magnesium. I take 400mg Daily and Vitamin B12 1000ugs daily ,meditate, think positive and try to be kind to people

Hi Margaret

I take Magnesium - and was advised to take 2x more Magnesium than Calcium as Calcium is usually better available in diet. I am quite sure it helps me. In fact I had more reliance on this supplement than any other (until my recent zinc experiences). It's so hard to know when you are doing 3, 4 or 5 things which ones really make the difference. I would maintain though that it is my wheat and corn free that underpins my relative health.

By krispen - i guess you mean "krispin" -

I had read lots of that website (and was unaware of the person behind it) also. There is a particularly good paper on the role of lectins in disease - here

I also take chelated Magnesium.

I did read that it helps to counteracts the effects of prednisolone, I take 5mgs. I'm not sure whether this is true or not. I also think it helps. My hair is much thicker since taking it.

Hi Linda when I first went to see a dietician / naturopath 20 years ago she commented on my nails being soft and had white flecks which she told me was a calcium deficiency - she was very clear that magnesium would help to absorb the calcium - my nails are now as hard as "nails". I take 75 most days - but so entire a lot more up to 300 mgs when I have had a flare.

Hi Sean, my nails are in pretty good condition. Oddly enough, my GP often checks my nails when I go to see him.
