Subject: Worms!

Hey all,
not popped my head in here for some time - i hope i find you all coping.
Just thought i'd share that on a recent visit to north wales, whilst stupidly drinking some 'fresh' water infected with some parasites i became infected with a heavy dose of worms... yes lovely i know...

However my skin and athritis got knocked right into submission. I felt amazing, even as much as to vigorously exercise.

Well i've dewormed myself now and the stiffness/fatigue and psoriasis are back... oh well...

But if i'm having a bad time this winter i'm considering reinfecting myself for some respite. Bonkers? Probably...

All the best,
Chris

That's interesting Chris. I have heard some people say that bee stings also helps RA.

Perhaps there is a cure out there and we just have to find it.

Would be interesting to hear if anyone else has relief from anything else like this.

Take care x

this is going to be a really interesting topic, I can feel it in my 'joints'. Were you given any antibotics for the wrigglers or did they 'go' by themselves? Lets face it if maggots can cure leg ulcers and stuff like that then anything is possible. I know if I get a nettle sting when gardening my finger joints dont hurt - not till next day anyway.

Hi Chris - my daughter has worms too at the mo! Not a nice subject...

I am fully bought in to my gut being the engine for my arthritis ( dampened flares with probiotics like kombucha ) and can see how worms could interrupt the immune process -

1). They complete for carbohydrate with other bacteria that are in the gut and will impact the proteins that are absorbed through the gut in to the bloodstream

2) They also excrete a self protection substance that can stop the immune system from attacking them

Again not a nice subject but faecal transplants have also been shown to alleviate auto immune disease and are being discussed for arthritis -

No antibiotics Julie - i don't think it would bother them much, just an over-the-counter deworm tablet.

I remember reading about some guy with MS, selling some type of parasite over the internet as a cure. I think the authorities were after him, but he said the parasites alleviated his MS symptoms.
