Subject: Painful feet
Hi all, On my second week with my 'insoles' from Orthotics. My left foot is worse, Pain down side of foot, cant bend my toes especially my big toe. Hurts on top of foot and now achy dull pain going up to my calf. Has anyone experienced this? Should I mention it to anyone? Sorry for moaning .. One good thing is my Rheumy nurse is back from sick leave, got an appt next week. As I'm writing this its throbbing. So sick of it.

Hi Linda, Sorry to hear of your painful feet. I've had numerous pairs of insoles made and they are not always suitable. Leather ones with arch support and bumpy bits that the nodules on the feet fit into, spongy type ones with bumps built in and some rubber type ones that are just too painful to wear. You are right saying that they can make your other joints ache. I can only use the leather thinner ones and not be too uncomfortable. I know we are measured and fitted for them but it doesn't always work. It will be a good idea to ring orthotics for a review. They are usually happy to try and help. Good luck.
