Hi there I haven't had a knee op but when I had my back op done the lady in the next bad had her knee done. She said it was sore for the first few days and then it settled. She said the pain after the op was nothing like the pain she had before. She was very glad she had it done.
I also had a neighbour that has had both her knees done and she is back driving and walking and she also said best thing she did and she was 72yrs.
It is natural you will be nervous we all are when its the unknown. You will have pain meds and physio after so try not to worry.
Take care and hope this helps.

Hi lol, I do hope if you have to have the op they don't leave you hanging around too long. Chin up and take care.

Hi lol, I get a lot of swollen knees and get lots of injections.
My rheumatolagist says I am bone on bone so I asked him why he never suggests new knee replacements. He replied that as long as injections work for me they will leave it.
I am now seeming to get at least two a year in each, but do suffer in between . Mostly because I cannot get an appointment as soon as they swell. My gp will not inject so I usually have to plead with the secretary to get pushed in.
I hope you get your op quickly and all goes well. There seems to be a good success rate.

Hi again,
You and I seem to have the same problem.
We need new knees, but as long as steroid injections help they will leave us!
I do get a good 4-6 months usually. Trouble is they do not get injected at the same time and so I can have a reasonable one and a dodgy one.
Maybe it is down to expense or they like to leave us as long as possible due to the 'life' duration of a new knee.
Who knows.... It is not easy to live with.
Wishing you luck for the moment. X
