Subject: advice needed please

Hi all, have abit of a long story but will try and keep it short... have had blood results for positive ra factor and crp levels have been raised for a while, have severe hip pain, fatigue, hands, wrist, ankle joint pain etc.
My gp suspected ra or a chronic arthritis prescribed naproxen and lyrica and referred to rheumy he has disagreed and said it's fibro due to no obvious swelling and I can move my joints all be in great pain and when I questioned blood results he said it could be mild form of ra, but I'm on the right treatment and isn't prepared to give me anything else.
I've had to have another crp blood test and have to go back in 8 weeks
I left his office in tears.
Not sure what to do, feel very down
Thanks for taking the time to read my post

hi Suzanne , you dont get raised CRP/ESR with fibromyalgia , its like chronic fatigue syndrome

having positive Rheumatiod factor dont mean you have RA but with raised CRP it says you got some kind of inflammation going & some people do get RA mind & can be treated with drugs like naproxen but expect they will put you on one of the Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARD) like methotrexate very soon

the outlook for RA is getting a lot better with some great new drugs coming through , if you dont get any joy ask your GP to refer you to another consultant but it can take time & they dont want to put you on drugs if you dont need it

Hi Suzanne,
I know how you feel I left the Rheumy in tears!! It's horrible when you know your ill, you know your body and it's symptoms and nobody takes what your saying seriously because it doesn't tie in with "suitable symptoms". My rheum factor is slightly raised, crp ok, but still have all the symptoms of RA.
Take care
Kat
