Subject: high CRP level

I have been to clinic today as last week they started me onto mtx injections at 25 (this is my 15th week in total on the stuff) results from my last weeks bloods for crp were up from 139 to 289,(before the 139 they were 19) also found protein and blood in my urine. I was supposed to start taking Plaquenil aswell but apparantly have to ask my specialist nurse if I should start just yet. I feel fine in myself but by the way the nurses were acting today about being unsure to give me injection cos crp was so high has really scared me. What happens if they cant get it down? I had another blood test done today so I am praying that the results will be better, this illness scares the life out of me, I thought once I was on meds they would sort me out. I was really ill over the weekend and I thought I had had a small flare, but apparantly the nurse said I had had a rigour, where my temperature gets so high I started to shiver - I would have happily taken an end it all pill if it had been offered, but next day I was okay again, eating etc., I feel so in the dark the only advice I get is on here, apart from a nurse today said if I was ever having a bad flare I should go to A&E - great advice seeing as I am unable to stand let alone get out of bed and go anywhere, they dont understand really do they how bad it can be.

thanks Colin, How are you doing I hope you are feeling okay. I did have steroid injection in buttock last week, which does help and I have rung helpline this morning to see if I should be starting the plaquenil (I have got it now) plus when they ring me back, which I hope will be today, I might get my blood results from yesterday, fingers crossed they will have improved. To be honest I seem to have had a continual flare for over past 4 weeks with maybe a day or two inbetween so it has been rough. I dont have any pain this morning which is good, back of my knee still feels lumpy though, but I do feel okay in myself. I dont know when I see consultant again but not that bothered she scares me, you know the type no smiles or any compassion, dont know what country she comes from but it must be a miserable country if they are all like that!! Will keep updated. Thankyou for help.
