Subject: Article about new drug
Hi all, just read an article in my local paper about Newcastle university trialling a cancer drug for RA. If anyone wants to read it go to The Northern Echo website. It is headlined One million pound grant awarded to see if cancer drug can be used to treat Arthritis. The drug is called Seliciclib. An interesting read, and of course all these things give us a glimmer of hope for the future. I don't know if this is in the national press as I only read the local on line. Have a good day everyone. X

Hi Emm, I will have a look at it later, thanks for sharing. Isn't it strange how cancer drugs are used for arthritis. Rituximab that I am on is also a cancer treatment, quite a scary thought. Hope you are well today. turned very dull here, I think we are going to get a downpour. x

seliciclib is the drug they are talking about , strange as Mtx is a cancer drug as well on wiki they say " Seliciclib is also in clinical trials for B-cell lymphomas," so not 100% sure what the drug is but dont seem to target the same thing as Rituximab
