Hello everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather.
Just wondered if anyone suffers from both the two above conditions.
Regards to all.

Hi Emm , got Industrial Asthma + RA , not the same but almost every cold ends up going down on my chest & needing steriods + antibiotics

how often do you get Bronchiectasis , some people they get to stop the drugs like Mtx & anti-tnf & others the advice is to carry on taking them

Colin, Bronchiectasis is a permanent condition, you might be thinking of bronchitis.

Emm, I have a very mild form of it plus RA. I only take a half dose of anti tnf because of it. I keep antibiotics and extra steroids as I get infections and probs with asthma very easily. Remind me what you are taking.

Hi Colin,
I can't have bio's because of the bronchiectasis, apparently they lower the immune system even more.
Bronchiectasis was discovered when the rhuematolagist sent me for a ct scan, after a few chest xrays.
I do get a lot of antibiotics.
Just wondered if any other RA sufferes had the same experience.

Bsk hi,
I think mine is not as bad as some too.
I take methatrexate and prednisilone, and random tramadol for pain. Also have mucodone, but I am not good at taking them everyday. I think I concentrate on RA more, trying to keep it under control.
I get Ciprofloxillan antibiotics for the chest.

Hi Emm, I don't know mucodone but take Cipro as well. I'm being treated for a supposed penicillin allergy as that is supposed to be the best drug for me.

just looked it up on wiki & decided dont want that , think most of us with RA got enough to put up with without it attacking our eyes/lungs/heart etc

Oh it is hard trying to balance the two, I get confused sometimes, do you?
I never know whether to stop MTX whilst I take Cipro, and sometimes make my own decision about it.
I don't like that they are both ongoing too, there is no cure for either!
Mucodyne is also known as carbosisteine.... My spelling of these is probably incorrect....it is tablets to thin mucous!

We don't either Colin haha!

I always stop my drugs when I'm on antibiotics as was advised to do. Doesn't seem to impact too bad on the Ra as long as it doesn't go on too long.
