After reading your post I have just been to Boots and got some of these for my swollen painful ankle.
They are £6.99 for 5, but used my points card and got them 'free'.
I am not at the specialist till JULY 1st, when I am going to ask for an injection, I have suffered all year and most of last year with this and it is making me too imobile.
I have'nt gone on holiday this year with friends because of it.
Hope it helps me as much as you.
Thanks for the tip. Laura.
Hi to all the regulars, sending you all hugs.

Sorry to hear you are suffering Emm. Could you not phone them and ask to get an injection sooner as it't too long to wait until July. I was exactly the same last year and my mobility was badly affected but since getting the rituximab i have felt a lot better. Hope you get something soon to help you. xx

Hi Rhona, how are you? I think I have had some relief from the patches. I put one on knee and one on ankle today.
I haven't been far today but pain lessened after a couple of hours. The only downside is I have used three already and you only get five! I don't think they are available on prescription, they seem to be Japanese!
I am just going to wait until July Rhona as I don't think I would get in much sooner. From past experience I know the GP won't help me and phoning the hospital to get pushed in is a nightmare and can take forever.
I am sure Dr said it is tricky to inject the ankle and would not do it last time earlier this year but we will see.
Isn't it great to see the sun.

Hi Emm, That's good if the patches have helped a bit, it is a bit costly if you are using a few every day but i think we would pay anything for a bit relief. You could ask the doctor if they have anything similar.
I'm doing not too bad just now. The infusions have helped and made me more mobile than i was. Have you been on any of thr biologic drugs?
I hope the weather keeps up for you, it was very cloudy here today although yesterday was beautiful.
Take care and i hope you feel better soon. xx

Rhona, I don't think I will be buying the patches on a regular basis. I did think they helped but afterwards the pain is still there. I tend to do this every now and again, we hear of something new and give it a go. It would be too expensive to keep up.
I can't have bio's because of bronchiectasis.
But I don't think methatrexate helps me anymore. As I have had further damage over the last two years.
I will see what my specialist says in July.
Still dry here, not as sunny but maybe we can get the rest of bank hol Monday over before the rain arrives.
I have not been able to enjoy the weekend as much as I would have liked, but never mind, we all know how this RA is by now....unpredictable!
I hope you have had a good weekend and are not suffering too much at the moment. X
