Hi ive suffered with arthritis for most of my life, juvinile arthritis from the age of 6 now been told that my condition is called psoriatic arthritis, the pain and aching can be unbearable most days. I am a single mum to two children the youngest only 10 months. I am currently on 20 mg of methotrexate and getting little to no benefit and keep being refused Dla, is anyone else in the same boat?

Hi Catherine
I have psoriatic arthritis also and fibromyalgia and I get dla it was hard going but after been turned down I appealed and they awarded me high mobility and low care and what a difference it makes I am 36 and have 3 kids age 10 and 8 year old twins I like you am in unbearable pain all the time I have tried all the dmard drugs methotrexate 3 times and even 2 anti tnf injections all have failed as they have caused bad side effects or damaged my blood counts so after nearly 3 years of trying this and that I am at this moment only taking pain meds I take gabapentin maxi tram tramadol.
I would advise you to try again with the dla I went to cab they were very helpful and try and see you Rhumy to get you different drug to try
Hope you feel better soon
Lynn
