Subject: Back from my appointment

I saw two specialists after seeing Gp who suggested RA but tests were neg. They think I have psoriatic arthritis. I was sent for an X-ray on lower back, bloods, and meds for pain relief. I also had a steroid jab in bottom. Going to see a nurse in a few weeks and specialist in six months. Currently reading up on psoriatic arthritis. Dr gave me a booklet on it.

Hi Theresa, good news that you have some answers. The steroid jab should help you out. The meds for your pain should also help.
Hope you feel a bit better about it all.

Take Care x

I know the feeling when they look at you like your from another planet. It took 2yrs before I had MRI scan and within a month I was in hospital having back surgery. Ummmm all in my head I don't think so.
Good luck with it all. Chin up and take care xx
Don't forget to rest up when your body is telling you its all too much XX

Glad you have a diagnosis and I hope the steroid has kicked in. Have they offered you any other meds?

Im still waiting for the steroid to kick in. Dont want to take anything at mo so i can see if steroid works. Should kick in before lunch today as they said 24 hrs. Ive been prescribed naproxen for pain relief should steroid not work. They said to take it if pain gets too bad. I was under the impression to use painkillers before you had pain?

Anyway, feeling more and more stiff every morning. Wish i could just stay in bed, but have to force myself to get up as ii have three kids to get to school. Still feeling stiff now and its half nine in morning.

Just want to know something, the diagnosis without the actual psoriasis problem, is that possible? Ive recently noticed a change in my skin, so it might be happening altogether. My feet have become very dry and flaky, as have my hands and face. This since the swelling. Specialists both check my scalp and said i have a dry patch. Noth are in agreement on a diagnosis, although still awaiting back xray and bloods.
