Subject: Arthritic pain getting worse...what meds could help??
Hello Everyone Well, Ive not had a good few days with the pain. I have arthritis practically attacking my joints. You know the feeling, a twinge then a pain and thats another joint been got.Anyway, I have pain everyday, and the only prescribed painkillers I have are 30/500mg codormol. To be honest they cripple me with diaphram cramps, and I can't take more than 4 a day, as they make me vomit. At the moment though my left thigh is giving me pain of burning, stabbing, numbness occurs for a minute or two. It not only happens when Im trying to sleep (oh for a night of uninterrupted slumber) and pressure, but also standing walking sitting, basically its just there. My friend has told me to get the doctor to refer me to a pain specialist, well it has only been 18 years since this all began, so maybe its a little early yet,it took 12 years before I got an X-Ray to confirm I had osteoarthritis in my lower spine. And, she said try to get Oxynorm. So, please any suggestions I would welcome.

hi Kim , myself dont take any painkillers , realy dont make that much differance , cant take Nsaid's anyway , just use 8/500 co-codormol for headaches main thing is to try get your arthritis under control , have you got PA/RA ? & what drugs they got you on for it , they did try to get me on pain patches , they did work for a bit but needed a lot stronger patch , they are opioid so talk to your GP as he can give you them & maybe refer you to a pain clinic
