Subject: A pain in the bottom???

I thought that might get your attention! It is however a serious question - do any of you suffer from pains in the sit bones (Ischial Tuberosity)? I have steriod injections for pains in my coccyx but have now developed deep pains 'inside' my bottom bones although I can't locate the pain if I try and probe. They are worse when sitting or when trying to straighten up from picking things off the floor or standing up from sitting.
I have PA, take leflunomide and enbrel injections.
I've notice my elbows, knees and feet are especially sore at the moment too so this may be a new type of flare?
I appreciate any help you can offer.
Thanks
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
I have had these pain's I think they are probably coming from your hip's as these can be deep down I know mine were.
I too have been experiencing a mini flare I call them in my hand's elbow's and my left arm and also my back.
I am on Golumamab,Arcoxia, and paracetamol but they are going to increase my mtx up to 25mg again which hopefully will help.
Hopefully you will find out what the cause is and get a bit of relief. Deborah.

Hi Lisa, yes I do especially when sitting or bed, in fact, I often find it less painful to stand. The pain is deep and feels like there is something in there or I'm sitting on something although can't feel anything. Initially the doctors just chuckled because I couldn't describe it very well I'm not a medical person at all. I have had a hip replacement in the last year and am still in pain and they think I may have arthritis in the lumber region I am undergoing tests and scans as we speak so I will let you know how I get on as this may be part of it.

Hi Margaret & Deborah - thanks very much for coming back so quickly, its much appreciated. I had wondered if it was my hips but research suggests it could be arthritis in the 'sit bone' and from what Margaret is saying her pain hasn't been cured by the hip replacement. Its very puzzling and very very painful isn't it.
I look forward to hearing the results of your tests Margaret especially as I am due at my RA appointment at the end of this month......
Thanks again
Lisa
