Subject: Confused

Had app today and bit confused.Consultant said i tick most boxes for RA and bloods were positive but he thought fibromalgia(wrong spelling). Yet the tests for that came back negative. He didnt really listen to me and started harping on bout hip pain which i've never complained of. He came to this conclusion by checkn my joints, yet i had no swelling jus pain. Anyways he gave me steroid injections and stronger painkillers. Changing from him to a closer consultant so hopefully get resolution. Anyone else ever had this?

hi Patsy , me consultant always told me Back & Hips are not affected by RA , so maybe that confused him , if your bloods are positive for rheumatiod factor & getting joint problems then good chance at some point them will decide on RA , took them two years to telll me but my GP said it after getting psitive RF

getting second opinion is always good so hopefully you will be sorted soon , & hope you feel better

Hi patsy
Don't know what's going on with your rheumy
I feel its an awful pity that the docs don't take just five minutes to listen to us
I find they just come to there own conclusion and we don't get a word in edge ways so go for a second opinion I would
Colin I never heard that ra doesn't affect hips I have a lot of problems with my hips and had several steroid jabs for same wow we learn some thing new every day :-)
Take care
Tara
