Subject: Groin pain

Has anyone ever suffered from groin pain before? Currently having a flare up but ended up in A&E yesterday with awful stabbing pains in my groin. Dr suspected kidney stones,hernia or problems with ovary, but after ct scan thinks it was referred pain from either knee or hip and is writing to my Rheumy. Has anyone experienced this type of stabbing pain in the groin before?

Hi Nicola, I have had pain in my groin and i was told by the rheumatologist it was coming from my hip. I still get it on and off.

Hi Nicola
Just read your post I keep getting sharp stabbing pains in my right thigh the pain is so bad I nearly collapse at times I mentioned it to my rheumy and he said it was neuropathic pain and changed my painkillers.But I'm still getting bouts of pain i posted a message a while ago asking ifanyone had heard of neuropathic pain but did.nt hear from anyone I don't no if your pain is the same but if it is I sympathize with you mine just comes on me at any time it dosent last too long but it can repeat on and off all day.

Thanks for replying Rhona & Teresa. Teresa, it's funny you should say that, as my GP prescribed me Gabapentin last Thursday & I wasn't sure why, just thought he didn't know what else to do until I saw my Rheumy on 21st, but it seems to be used for neropathic pain! My pain is exactly as you explained, hope to find out more on 21st. Currently taking Prednisolone, Planquenil, Etoricoxib and Gabapentin as well as codeine & paracetamol as needed. Hope your pain settles soon, it's helpful to know others are experiencing similar things & you're not alone. Nicola
