Hi Emm, answered your other post. I was told 3 or 4 a year. I've only had two in one shoulder and two in one knee.

I've had about 6 in knee over quite a few years, and 5 in left shoulder over 3 years. But as I said before Specialist said I can have them whenever I need them. As I am struggling permanently for the last 2 years, I think I will be needing them forever. This is why I am pleased to hear of new treatments as in the paper today. Whats available at present does'nt work for me at all anymore. Can't have biologicals because of bad chests.

Wow Creswick, I thought I had far to many over the years. 4 in spine 7 in elbow and 8 in the shoulder. I was told three in each joint was the aim but I wonder just how much limit is put on these injections? Take Care everyone

Well it is all true most were in my knees but a few in my elbows. I think when there is no relief, and the rheumatologist is willing to do them the effect of draining and injecting, for me, was great. I have to say I have never been on any strong pain relief or anti-inflamatorys just biologicals after the failure of methatrexate. So much for 2 steroid injections in one year......
